I tried first with ublock origin. I could remove the loop attribute on video elements. Then the videos only played once. They played once every time they were scrolled into view. There is some script that starts videos every time they are scrolled into view. I tried with Firefox advanced settings in about:config. It removed the videos from the page. Not what i wanted. Then i tried Tampermonkey. You have to add video controls and pause the video all the time. Daily mail scripts sets back videos and starts them. The script runs a function every second. The function loops through all video elements and puts video controls back and pauses the video. When a video is scrolled into view it stops in a second. You can skip trough it with the video controls. Now i don’t have to get the experience the user expects. As a web developer would say it.

// @description Adds controls to HTML5 videos
// @grant none

function func() {
for (var e of document.getElementsByTagName('video')) {
e.setAttribute('controls', true);
e.pause();
}
console.log('Add controls');
}
setInterval(func, 1000);
The uBlock origin filters i use. I believe only the first one makes any difference.

It is now called Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office. I reinstalled Windows on my computer because an upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 made it only restart all the time. Yesterday i install Acronis True image. There was some error message about some Acronis driver that could not be loaded. After a while i noticed that some process was read from my Storage space drives all the time and 300MB/s. I thought it was synchronizing because i had some problem with one of the harddrives. After 12 hours it was still reading fast. I did a search mms_mini.exe. It is some Acronis service. I could not find any information on what it is doing. What does “Enables data of true image on the machine.” mean. 🤔I tried to pause the protection, but that did not stop the service from reading. I tried to stop mms_mini.exe, but it was difficult. I changed some Acronis services to manual startup. There was 10 Acronis services. After a restart it was calm. If i start True image it immediately starts reading hard drives fast. I cant see that it is doing anything in the GUI. The protection is permanently stopped. If i stop True image the reading stops. I have to look for some other image backup software.
Few wants to talk about meat production and climate change. There are coming gases out from cows both in the front and the rear.
There are just two actions needed to prevent catastrophic climate breakdown: leave fossil fuels in the ground and stop farming animals. But, thanks to the power of the two industries, both aims are officially unmentionable.
Guardian
Those industries are powerful because people really want their products. People want to stop climate change, but only if they can keep their cars and eating meat. The cars can be fixed, but i doubt that meat production can cut down on greenhouse gasses. Meat eating is going up because more people in the world can afford it.
Not even Norway will stop getting fossil fuels up from the ground.
Livestock is mentioned in only three agreements, and the only action each of them proposes is “management”. Nowhere is there a word about reduction.
Guardian
No politician wants to tell people to cut down on meat eating. People in shithole countries wants to live like people in the western world.
Lately i had problems logging in to some computers in my Windows domain. Error messages about computer not having account in the domain. When clicking on some computer in Explorer that path is not available. I noticed that one domain controller had failed to sync for a month. When i turned off that domain controller it got better. I decided to reinstall that DC. I could make it into domain controller. Server manager hanged on configuring AD DS service. In DCPROMO.LOG i saw
11/13/2022 02:04:27 [INFO] EVENTLOG (Error): NTDS Replication / Setup : 1125
The Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard (Dcpromo) was unable to establish connection with the following domain controller.
Domain controller:
N2820.myaddomain.org
Additional Data
Error value:
1722 The RPC server is unavailable.
I did a search with Google. The reasons i found for that error Message is that some services are not running or DNS error. All services were running. After looking at DNS records for a long time i saw that they were there. 🤔I tried using dcdiag. It complained about DNS records missing. I tested with nslookup and dig. All records from netlogon.dns were available. That should be enough for promoting a computer to domain controller. I could not get the DNS server on my DC to listen to its IPv6 address. I gave up on that. I looked at the event logs on the DC to see if i could find some error message telling me why i could not promo another computer to a DC. I found an error saying that the was a IP address conflict for the IPv6 address. The error message was nice enough to tell me the MAC address for the other computer with the same address. When creating a Linux container a month ago i had given it the same IPv6 address as my domain controller. The DC refused then to use the address. That is why the DNS server could not listen to that address. I gave the container another IPv6 address. Restarted the DC. One computer that was still trying to be a DC succeeded. When i tried to promote another computer it also succeeded. 😀I know that an IP address conflict is bad. I am not surprised it created problems for the domain. The DNS and RPC requests went to the Linux container. It could not do anything. Windows then thought there was something wrong with the RPC server.
Yesterday i decided to remove an old HP DL380G7 node from my Windows cluster and replace it with a Dell Poweredge T330. I read somewhere on Microsoft web site if you move all drives to a new server it will work. You cant spread out the drives over the cluster. It looked easy. I had already joined the T330 to the cluster. I moved all the drives. Set them to not RAID. Windows found all drives and all were pass-through. Storage spaces did not want to use them. I tried many things. When i ran Enable-ClusterStorageSpacesDirect it said that there was no drives with correct bustype that could be used. I looked at the bustype for the drives. It was RAID. Storage spaces direct dont like RAID drives. But these were pass-through so they were usable. I found a web page told me how to get around this.
https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2296087-conceptualizing-windows-server-storage-spaces-or-s2d
I ran the command “(Get-Cluster).S2DBusTypes=256” to allow RAID drives.. After that Enable-ClusterStorageSpacesDirect. All disks and volumes went offline. ☹️I tried restarting everything. But S2D could not find most of the drives. After thinking about it for a while noticed that the value 256 looked suspiciously like a bit mask. Maybe i had allowed only RAID drives. I tried with “(Get-Cluster).S2DBusTypes=4294967295” to allow all bustypes. Then S2D found the drives. The disks and volumes were still offline, but when i manually took them online they came online. For a while i thought i had crashed all my cluster volumes. If i had enabled all bustypes first maybe this would have been easy.
It looked bad for a while. I have tried to upgrade to Windows 11 many times. It was always something that was not ready for Windows 11. The upgrade software did not tell me what is was. I suspect it was the LSI 9211 SAS card. Yesterday there was a new message about that Windows 11 22H2 was ready for me. This time there was nothing that prevented an upgrade. After the upgrade i started to test if everything was working. The storage spaces pool was there. That means the LSI card was working. The cluster manager was working. I could not login to the Veeam backup software. After a while i saw that the SQL server database was not started. I tried to start it but it could not start. I looked in the ERROR file. This looks bad. SQL server is crashing at startup.

It has something to do with block size on the volume the database file is stored. SQL server must have block size 512B or 4KB. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/sql/admin/troubleshoot-os-4kb-disk-sector-size
If i run the command “fsutil fsinfo sectorinfo c:” i get.
PS C:\Users\Kalle> fsutil fsinfo sectorinfo c:
LogicalBytesPerSector : 512
PhysicalBytesPerSectorForAtomicity : 4096
PhysicalBytesPerSectorForPerformance : 16384
FileSystemEffectivePhysicalBytesPerSectorForAtomicity : 4096
Device Alignment : Aligned (0x000)
Partition alignment on device : Aligned (0x000)
No Seek Penalty
Trim Supported
Not DAX capable
Not Thinly-Provisioned
SQL server dont like the PhysicalBytesPerSectorForPerformance : 16384 part. Luckily there is a trace flag for SQL server to make it always use 4KB. It is trace flag 1800. If you add -t1800 to the sql server command line it will start.
Thank you everyone for your comments and feedback regarding JPEG XL. We will be removing the JPEG XL code and flag from Chromium for the following reasons:
– Experimental flags and code should not remain indefinitely
– There is not enough interest from the entire ecosystem to continue experimenting with JPEG XL
– The new image format does not bring sufficient incremental benefits over existing formats to warrant enabling it by default
– By removing the flag and the code in M110, it reduces the maintenance burden and allows us to focus on improving existing formats in Chrome
The open source guys are upset. I did not know there was a new jpeg format.
Oh boy. If Google had applied the same kind of standards for WebP, that image format simply wouldn’t exist today. And frankly WebP is a complete shitshow and supported nonetheless to this today.

When i saw that Dashlane would support passkeys i thought that was interesting. I did not understand how it would work. You can see in the picture how it works. You have to enter Dashlane master password to use passkeys. Passkeys was supposed to get rid of passwords. It is not very bad because you only have to remember one password. Passkeys works much better with Windows Hello and a fingerprint reader.

After peaking in 2014 at 10 percent, the trend has been decreasing, especially since China stopped accepting the West’s plastic waste in 2018.
Did they burn it or just put it somewhere. 🤔
