I wanted to use Linux containers. I read about Docker and Podman. I believed that Podman was better. I few days ago i discovered lxd. It is more like virtual machines. I like that. Lxd have a cluster function. All nodes remember the settings. I can add network interfaces and volumes after the container is created. It does not loose state.

My Windows cluster is working
I had many problems getting the hyper-converged fail-over cluster to work. First i tried to convert a Windows server standard to a Server datacenter cluster node. Something went wrong. Every time i shutdown a node all volumes went offline. They should only be degraded, but still available. The slabs were placed wrong. It was like Storage spaces direct placed slabs anywhere without caring about both must not be on the same node. I started over from scratch. Wiped all drives with Linux wipefs. You cant wipe a storage space drive in Windows. This time i could shutdown a node and the volumes got only degraded. It takes a long time to re-synchronize the volumes. Next problem was that a NVME SSD was not automatically used as cache. I tried to set it as journal with a powershell command. It changed to journal, but no space was used on it. I tried to remove it and add it. Then i remember that i had a Samsung NVME SSD that was used as storage spaces direct cache in another. I removed the Kingston SSD and put in the Samsung. Immediately storage spaces direct turned it into a cache drive. I dont know why it did not like the Kingston. I noticed that writing to the cluster volumes were slow. Turns out that storage spaces direct turns off disk caches if the drives dont have Power Loss Protection. Even a NVME SSD gets slow without write cache.
Nobody needs 24bit audio at home
Sonos has announced that it has expanded its relationship with Qobuz by offering its customers a 24-bit Qobuz high-resolution streaming option.

16bit audio have close to 100db signal/noise ratio. Why would anyone want more. Ordinary people will not care about this. People who understand audio thinks it is stupid. You have to turn up the volume very high to hear any noise from 16bit audio. They probably needed some feature to sell something. 24bit audio could be useful in audio production when they process audio.

Turkey was demanding the social media giant block Facebook posts from the People’s Protection Units, a mostly Kurdish militia group the Turkish government had targeted. Should Facebook ignore the request, as it has done elsewhere, and risk losing access to tens of millions of users in Turkey? Or should it silence the group, known as the YPG, even if doing so added to the perception that the company too often bends to the wishes of authoritarian governments? It wasn’t a particularly close call for the company’s leadership, newly disclosed emails show. “I am fine with this,” wrote Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s No. 2 executive, in a one-sentence message to a team that reviewed the page.

Is it a sin

Maybe the YPG was dangerous terrorist anyways. Facebook have many enemies
Now posts, pages and groups containing such falsehoods will be removed from the platform entirely. “Building trust and confidence in these vaccines is critical, so we’re launching the largest worldwide campaign to help public health organizations share accurate information about Covid-19 vaccines and encourage people to get vaccinated as vaccines become available to them,”
Last month was the delightful news that Ubuntu 21.04 is aiming to use Wayland by default for non-NVIDIA systems on the GNOME desktop rather than the X.Org session.
Phoronix
I want this to be over soon. We should not have to think about if we use xorg or Wayland. I try to use Wayland, but i have to switch to xorg for some things. Maybe it would move faster if Wayland was faster than xorg, but sadly it is not. I believe xrdp have to be fixed. And nvidia is also complicating this for reasons i dont understand. Why must nvidia be so difficult.

The chinese are ahead of us
The reason for the ban is obvious for experts. HTTPS connections negotiated via TLS 1.3 and ESNI prevent third-party observers from detecting what website a user is attempting to access. This effectively blinds the Chinese government’s Great Firewall surveillance tool from seeing what users are doing online.

They already keep track of what their citizens do. Europe is behind. EU still dont know what every EU citizen writes on the Internet. To stop hate speech we must verify the identity of all internet users and check every website. Wrong think must be punished.
I have not lost any volume or files. It is slow. Transfer speed much less than the hard drives max speed. I have started using tier mode. If i have 50GB on a SSD it becomes faster. It looks a little strange in the Server manager. One column is empty and another just say Unknown. I wish Microsoft fixes that someday. There is a check mark for tiered mode.
